Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I posted something to the blog. Time seems to get away from us lately - weekends are busy and the weekdays are busier. I have about 82,000 pictures that I've been wanting to upload and we've been on some good hikes that I've been wanted to blog about, but there's just no time!!
So with the promise of more to come, I just wanted to make a very quick post about a program that is running this week (and likely for a couple weeks to come) on PBS called "Carrier." It's a 10-part (I think) documentary about life on an aircraft carrier and was filmed aboard the Nimitz on its 2005 deployment, when they relieved Nick's carrier group, the Carl Vinson, in the Gulf. We watched the first installments last night, and they were great. The editing is wonderful, the footage is spectacular, and it was kind of nostalgic for us to watch "squadron life" and see a bit of Nick's old Screwbird buddies in those guys on the Nimitz. It's certainly not sugarcoated, and they address the good and the bad of life aboard a carrier pretty fairly, we agreed.
So check it out - and if you have PBS in HD, I'm sure it would look AMAZING in 1080.
That's it for now! More later!
