Fire Map: Southern California

This is a picture from NASA's Visible Earth program showing the fires in San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles counties. I've circled the Harris Fire (bottom circle) right there at the border and moving West, the Witch Fire (middle circle) which has become the largest wildfire in California history and is still spreading, and the Fallbrook Fire (top circle) which is pushing toward Camp Pendleton (http://www.pendleton.usmc.mil/) but has not yet breached the base. The large fire area at the top of the picture is in Santa Clarita and the small red dot below that is the "famous" Malibu fire. The grouping of 4 small fires East of Malibu are fires that have been slowly burning since August, and the fire near the coast in the middle of the picture is in Orange County.
