Alright, as some of you may know, I'm absolutely addicted to the Olympics. What can I say ... I have a fever ... and the only prescription is more cowb ... I mean, Olympics coverage!! Maybe I'm behind the times, but just the other day I discovered that on NBC's website, you can tell them your zip and your cable/satellite provider and they provide you with an hour-by-hour list of coverage on all of the participating channels (in addition to NBC, there's MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Universal HD, Oxygen, even Telemundo! Ole!). Do you think Oxygen is going to show all of the "for-women" kinds of sports, like synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics?!
But maybe the most exciting thing about that page is that they have a sport-by-sport listing of all of the times that there will be live online streaming broadcasts of events. So for people like Nick and me, who REALLY like sailing, water polo, etc, this is an awesome thing. And yes, many of them are at unreasonable hours of the morning, but this may be the only time Nick and I have been excited to be 3 hours behind the East Coast ... hooray for early morning sports (which is ~7-10 pm our time)!!
Oh, and speaking of water polo, I betcha didn't know (Brace family excepted) that I am second cousins with one of the women's water polo team! We will be cheering very hard for Alison Gregorka (#10) and keeping an eye on the stands for my mom's cousin Joanie!!!! (Yes, my mom's cousin's daughter would be my second cousin. Joanie is my first cousin once removed. I can't tell you HOW many times we've looked up generational charts online ... you'll just have to trust us. Email Nick if you need a breakdown, 'cause he's could write the "dummy's guide" at this point.)
So here's what you need to do if you want to be half as addicted to the Olympics as I am ... go to
http://www.nbcolympics.com/tv_and_online_listings/
and start planning out your 10+ hours per day of viewing (this is where DVR/TiVO REALLY REALLY helps to get through it all!!!).
Go Team USA!!!!
PS - I am so excited for rhythmic gymnastics. Seriously. Watch it and you'll see what I mean. They're like dancers but with incredible technical prowess. Just 'cause the USA sucks at it doesn't mean it isn't awesome!

WOO HOO! That's so exciting for your 2nd cousin! Thanks for that NBC listing -- on my "to do" list at work for tomorrow was to look around for a good schedule. We're having an Opening Ceremonies party tomorrow and I'm listening to my "Summon the Heroes" CD as I type this. :)
