How's Tasha Dealing?

How, you might ask, are Natasha and Naski getting along? Well, this video was from over a week ago, and the situation has improved greatly since. But it's still amusing!

Natasha took some time to adjust to Naski's "annoying" younger sibling habits like following her around the house, stalking her around corners, eating her food, using her litterbox, occupying the laps of her people, and running straight at her to provoke her (boy oh boy, he's such an instigator!). We've watched her allowable Naski radius decrease from ~10 feet (around the time the video was taken) to mere inches (today - hooray!). Close contact usually only happens when they are both calm and sleepy and Natasha doesn't feel threatened or irritated. They have both slept in bed with us for the past few nights, something we didn't anticipate happening for many more weeks! Now they are sniffing each other out ... there has been nose-to-nose contact in the last couple of days. Of course, minutes after said contact, Tasha may decide to hiss at him from across the room. So it's still a work in progress! =)

For his part, Naski is no longer the calm kitty described in the previous post - he is a rambunctious little guy who loves to chew on things and explore EVERYTHING. Thankfully, he has not been too destructive. We kept him in our hall bathroom for the first two days, but he soon wanted to explore the rest of the house. And as soon as he figured out just how many rooms there were in HIS house, he no longer wanted to be in that tiny bathroom. He actually tried to chew through the door jamb ... that was his only real destruction. So there was a bit of time where we could no longer keep him contained but he and Natasha were not ready for unsupervised contact, which made the workday and night times interesting. Now we are all coexisting peacefully (enough) and Nick and I are secretly hoping that the day when we come home to find them curled up together in Tasha's cat bed is around the corner.
